Sebi Bars Finfluencer Avadhut Sathe for Misleading Claims
The Indian stock market regulator, Sebi, has stopped a person named Avadhut Sathe and his trading school, ASTA, from dealing in stocks.
They also ordered the school to return around ₹546 crore that they earned by making false promises of big profits.
Many people who joined ASTA lost money, even though the school showed videos of people making lots of money.
Sebi found out that these videos were fake.
People are often attracted to such schemes because they want to get rich quickly and believe what they see online.
Experts say it's important to be careful and ask questions before investing money.
Sebi barred Avadhut Sathe and ASTA from dealing in securities and ordered the impounding of ₹546.16 crore.
ASTA was found to be providing unregistered investment advice and making misleading claims in its advertisements.
The academy collected around ₹600 crore in course fees from over 337,000 participants between 2015 and 2025.
Sebi's investigation revealed that participants incurred net losses despite ASTA's claims of extraordinary profits.
Experts advise investors to be cautious and verify the credentials of financial advisers before investing.
