OECD Upgrades Global GDP Growth Forecast
The OECD, which is a group of 38 countries that studies the economy and helps with international trade, said the world economy is doing better than expected.
They think the world economy will grow by 3.2% this year, which is a little less than last year's 3.3%, but better than they thought back in June.
They also think the US economy will grow by 2.0% this year, which is more than they thought before, but still less than last year's 2.8%.
President Trump has been putting taxes on things that are imported to the US, which was expected to slow down the economy.
But many companies brought in things before the taxes started, and there's a lot of money being put into artificial intelligence, which is helping the economy.
The OECD says that even though the economy is doing well now, the taxes on imports might make things more expensive in the future, which could slow down growth.
OECD upgrades global GDP growth forecast for 2025 to 3.2% from 2.9% predicted in June.
US GDP growth forecast for 2025 raised to 2.0% from 1.6% predicted in June.
Global growth expected to slow to 2.9% in 2026.
Trade barriers and policy uncertainty were expected to slow growth, but AI investments are boosting the economy.
OECD warns that higher tariffs may lead to increased prices, reducing household consumption and business investment.
