India Signs Rs 586 Crore Deal for Tank Power Units

India is buying special power units for its T-72 and T-90 tanks.

The Defence Ministry signed a contract worth Rs 586 crore.

The company making the units is Accurate Industrial Controls Private Limited.

These units can provide electricity when a tank’s main engine is not running.

They can help operate the tank’s aiming and firing systems.

They can also be used during training and quiet periods in battle.

This may help the tanks remain ready and reduce wear on their main engines.

The project is also meant to support Indian manufacturing and possible exports.
