MP Mhaske seeks medical college in Thane
An MP from Thane named Naresh Mhaske asked the central government to build a medical college at a new hospital in Thane.
This hospital has 900 beds and was recently built.
The MP said Thane is growing very fast and needs more doctors.
He suggested using a special way called PPP, where the government and private companies work together to build the college.
He also wants a plan where smaller cancer treatment centers are connected to bigger ones so people don't have to travel far for help.
This idea was also in his party's promises for local elections.
MP Naresh Mhaske requested the Centre to establish a medical college at Thane's newly built 900-bed civil hospital.
He proposed using a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to convert the super-speciality infrastructure into a full-fledged medical college.
Mhaske highlighted the inadequate 300-bed capacity of the old civil hospital for the rapidly urbanising district.
He suggested a 'hub-and-spoke' policy for cancer treatment to reduce the pressure on Mumbai's hospitals.
The proposal was part of the Shiv Sena’s manifesto for the Thane Municipal Corporation elections.
