Indore Residents Lose Money in Fake Loan and Task Scams
Three people in Indore said they were tricked by online money scams.
In two cases, callers pretended to work for Bajaj Finance and promised people loans.
The victims were asked to pay fees, but the loans did not arrive.
In another case, a caller pretending to work for Myntra offered paid online tasks through a Telegram group.
The man sent money and got some of it back, but most was not returned.
The group then asked him to send even more money.
The victims reported the incidents to the police or cyber helpline.
Two people in Indore reported losing ₹53,689 after scammers posing as Bajaj Finance representatives promised ₹1 lakh loans.
One victim paid ₹25,859 through seven PhonePe QR codes; another transferred ₹27,830 between September 10 and 24.
In a separate case, a caller posing as a Myntra employee recruited a man into a Telegram group offering paid online tasks.
The man transferred ₹29,202 and received ₹4,578 back, leaving ₹24,624 unrecovered.
The task-group administrators demanded another ₹60,000 to release his money; he reported the suspected fraud to police.
