NSE IPO Lock-In Debate: Chauhan Downplays Post-Listing Selling Concerns

NSE IPO Lock-In Debate: Chauhan Downplays Post-Listing Selling Concerns

The National Stock Exchange plans to sell shares to the public in an IPO.

The IPO is expected to begin on September 17, 2026.

Each share will be priced between ₹1,700 and ₹1,785.

The sale will involve existing owners selling their shares, rather than NSE creating new shares.

Some experts think many early investors may sell when a six-month restriction ends.

NSE chief Ashishkumar Chauhan disagrees that there will be very heavy selling.

He says many investors did not sell more shares because they thought the IPO price was lower than they wanted.

He also says most large investors are financially strong and are not in a hurry for cash.

The shares will trade on the BSE rather than the NSE to support neutral regulation.
