PCMC Extends SIR Drive and BLO House Visits
The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme of electoral rolls in Maharashtra to August 8, 2026.
This includes house visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to collect enumeration forms and the process to reorganise polling stations.
The extension was granted due to recent heavy rainfall and the difficulties it has caused.
Some people support the extension because it gives more time to complete the tasks, while others might think it causes delays.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will follow this new schedule.
