Kala Ghoda beautification nears completion
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is almost done with a project to make the Kala Ghoda area in Mumbai more beautiful.
They are putting cobblestones on the small streets and asking all the restaurants and eateries to have the same kind of signs.
The goal is to make the area look like it did a long time ago and to make it easier and safer for people to walk around.
The BMC plans to close these streets to cars once the project is finished.
Civil works for beautifying Kala Ghoda's internal lanes are nearly complete.
BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani directed uniform signboards for all eateries and restaurants.
The project aims to restore the old-city charm of Kala Ghoda, a significant art precinct in Mumbai.
Cobblestones are being laid to make the locality pedestrian-friendly.
The BMC plans to permanently pedestrianize these streets once the project is completed.
