NPG Evaluates Four Infrastructure Projects Under PM GatiShakti
Imagine a big plan called PM GatiShakti that helps build better roads and train tracks across India.
Recently, a group met to look at four important projects.
One is a big road upgrade in Maharashtra to help trucks reach ports faster.
Two other road projects in Madhya Pradesh will make it easier to travel between different parts of the country and reach busy areas.
For trains, they looked at adding more tracks in Jharkhand to help move more minerals and goods, and also adding tracks in West Bengal and Jharkhand to help power and mining companies send their products more easily by train instead of trucks.
The 101st meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) evaluated four infrastructure projects.
Projects included NH-160A upgrade in Maharashtra for freight corridor linking Nashik to western ports.
Two highway development projects in Madhya Pradesh aim to strengthen interstate connectivity.
Railways projects involve new lines in Jharkhand to ease congestion and a fourth line in West Bengal/Jharkhand to boost capacity on the 'Energy Corridor'.
The evaluations focused on multimodal connectivity, logistics efficiency, and adherence to PM GatiShakti principles.
