AAIB probes Air India Phuket-Delhi flight turbulence that injured 24

A big airplane was flying from Phuket in Thailand to Delhi in India.

While flying high in the sky, the plane suddenly moved up or down about 300 feet in a hurry.

That sudden jerk hurt 24 people inside the plane — 20 passengers and 4 crew members.

The plane did not crash: the pilots steadied it and it landed safely in Delhi.

There were 137 passengers onboard, including 3 babies, plus 8 crew members.

Now, safety experts called the AAIB are working to find out why the plane moved so suddenly.

They are checking the plane's computers, flight records, maintenance papers and medical information.

Helpers from France and from Airbus, the company that made the plane, are joining the investigation.

The experts ask everyone to be patient and not guess what happened until all clues are studied.

Their first findings should come out within about a month.
