Indian Triple Jumpers Reach Commonwealth Games Final
In Glasgow, two Indian athletes, Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu, jumped in the men's triple jump at the Commonwealth Games.
They did well enough to move on to the final round, even though the weather was cold and windy.
Praveen jumped 16.41 meters and came in second, while Selva jumped 16.26 meters and came in third.
No one else reached the automatic qualifying distance of 16.60 meters.
The final will be held on Saturday with the top 12 jumpers.
Another Indian athlete, Vishal TK, who is a record holder in the 400 meters, did not make it to his final because he ran slower than his best time.
Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu qualified for the men's triple jump final at the Commonwealth Games.
Chithravel jumped 16.41m (second place) and Prabhu 16.26m (third place).
Cold and windy conditions prevented any athlete from hitting the automatic 16.60m qualification mark.
