Afghan Jet Lands on Wrong Runway at Delhi Airport
A plane from Afghanistan, called Ariana Afghan Airlines, was supposed to land on a special runway at Delhi Airport.
But by mistake, it landed on a different runway that is only for taking off.
This was a big safety problem because another plane could have been taking off at the same time.
Luckily, no other plane was on that runway, so no one got hurt.
The people in charge of airports are now checking why this happened to make sure it doesn't happen again.
The pilot said the plane's guidance system failed, which made it hard to see and caused the mistake.
The authorities are investigating to find out exactly what happened.
An Ariana Afghan Airlines flight from Kabul mistakenly landed on Delhi Airport's take-off-only runway (29R) instead of the designated landing runway (29L).
The incident occurred around 12:06 PM on Sunday, triggering a major security scare.
No flights were taking off from 29R at the time, preventing a potential disaster.
The pilot attributed the mistake to the failure of both ILS systems after the Final Approach Fix, leading to unintentional deviation due to poor visibility and loss of lateral guidance.
Aviation authorities have opened an inquiry into the incident, calling it a 'serious operational breach'.
