Indian Railways Updates Emergency Ticket Rules For Punctuality
Indian Railways has changed how people book emergency tickets.
Now, if you need an emergency ticket, you have to ask for it at least a day before your train leaves.
The railway is doing this to make things run better and trains arrive on time.
They want to get the train's seating list (the chart) ready earlier.
If a train leaves between midnight and 2 PM, you need to request by noon the day before.
If the train leaves between 2 PM and midnight, then you need to request by 4 PM the day before.
This helps regular passengers because they will find out sooner if their tickets from the waiting list are confirmed.
Indian Railways has updated Emergency Quota (EQ) rules for ticket booking.
Requests for EQ tickets must be submitted at least a day before the journey.
The new rule aims to streamline the ticketing process and improve train punctuality.
Requests for trains departing between 00:00 and 14:00 must reach the EQ cell by 12:00 the previous day.
The changes are expected to help common passengers by providing earlier confirmation statuses for waiting list tickets.
