Vijay Government Expands Welfare Network From Buses To Gold Rings
Tamil Nadu’s government is adding more benefits to help people in their daily lives.
Women and transgender people can now ride free on more types of government buses.
More schoolchildren will receive free breakfast at school.
Some babies born in government hospitals will receive a small gold ring.
Eligible brides may receive gold and a silk saree.

Tamil Nadu expanded free bus travel for women and transgender persons to more government services, covering 12,695 buses and an estimated 84.32 lakh women daily.
The government extended free breakfast from Classes I-V to VI-VIII, adding about 15 lakh children to the programme.
Eligible newborns delivered in government facilities will receive a one-gram, 22-carat gold ring under the Thaimaaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam.
