Polytechnic Reforms in Telangana Raise SIO Privatisation Fears

SIO Telangana is worried about planned changes to government Polytechnics.

The changes would place them under the SHAKTI framework and connect them with Young India Skills University.

SIO wants students to know whether they can still enter B Tech courses later.

It also wants their future studies and current courses to be protected.

The organisation fears fees could rise.

It is also concerned that private companies could become more involved in government colleges.

SIO says this could make technical education harder to afford for poorer students.

It has asked the government to speak with students, teachers and college managers before making major changes.
