Injured Leopard Rescued After Deadly Clash in Jalpaiguri
In a tea garden in Jalpaiguri, a leopard was found hurt.
The forest team saved it and took it to a place where it is getting help.
The day before, another leopard was found dead in the same garden.
The foresters think the two leopards fought, and one died while the other got hurt.
The team is watching the hurt leopard closely and is also keeping an eye on the nearby forests.
An injured leopard was rescued from the Nagaisuree tea estate in Jalpaiguri district on Wednesday morning.
The rescue followed the discovery of a dead leopard in the same area, suspected to have died from infighting.
Local people alerted foresters about the injured leopard, who then rescued and transferred it to Lataguri for treatment.
The chief conservator of forests (wildlife, north) confirmed the rescue and suspected the injuries were from a fight with another leopard.
Surveillance in the surrounding forests has been intensified to monitor the situation.
