NIA Accuses PFI of Arms Procurement and Training
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) told a court that the Popular Front of India (PFI) tried to get weapons from nearby countries and trained some of its members to use them.
They also said that some PFI members went to Syria to learn fighting skills from a group called the Islamic State.
The NIA claims that the PFI made special teams to watch leaders from certain political groups.
They also said the PFI wanted to change young people's minds to support their goals.
The government has already banned the PFI for five years because they think the group is connected to dangerous international groups.
The court will talk about this more on December 23.
The NIA accused the PFI of trying to get weapons from neighboring countries and training members in combat.
Some PFI members allegedly went to Syria to learn combat tactics from the Islamic State.
The PFI is accused of forming hit squads to monitor leaders from the BJP, RSS, and VHP.
The NIA claims the PFI was created to radicalize Muslim youth to establish a caliphate in India and enforce Sharia law.
The court will continue hearing the case on December 23, with the PFI already banned for five years by the government.
