Mangaluru Railway Division Demand Receives Fresh Political Push
Mangaluru has been asking for its own railway division for more than 10 years.
A railway division is an administrative area managed by railway officials.
P.V. Mohan said Mangaluru should receive one instead of Mysuru.
He welcomed the city being separated from the Palakkad railway division for administrative purposes.
However, he said this change did not go far enough.
He said the region brings in about Rs 1,100 crore in railway revenue each year.
