Ajmer court fines woman for false rape case against neighbour

A woman in Rajasthan told the police that her neighbour hurt her seven-year-old daughter.

She said it happened when her daughter was watching over a field.

The police started looking into her complaint.

But when they asked the little girl, she said it did not happen.

Everyone found out the two families were fighting over land and cattle.

The woman had made up the story to get the neighbour in trouble.

A special court in Ajmer checked all the facts and agreed the complaint was false.

The court decided the woman must pay a fine of Rs 5,000.

The court was a little kind because she was old, could not read or write, and lived in a village.
