14-Year-Old Ali Hussain Makes National Shooting Debut
Ali Hussain, a 14-year-old boy from Telangana, just made his debut in the national shooting championship.
He and his team, which includes older shooters, qualified in the 50-metre Rifle Prone event.
This is a big deal because Ali is the youngest shooter from Telangana to achieve this.
He trains at a place called SATS Shooting Range, which isn't in great shape and has very few working targets.
Despite these challenges, Ali and his team showed great skill and determination.
His dad, Asif Sohail, is proud of him and hopes that the government will improve the training facilities so more young shooters can succeed.
Ali also helps in his community by teaching kids and feeding people, showing that he is not just a great shooter but also a kind person.
Ali Hussain, 14, qualified in the 50-metre Rifle Prone event at the 68th National Rifle Shooting Championship of India – 2025, making him the youngest nationally recognized shooter from Telangana.
He trained at the dilapidated SATS Shooting Range, which has limited resources and non-functional targets, alongside his team members Mairaj, Huzaifa, and Mustafa.
Ali's team was mentored by Mr. Imran (Armourer & Coach) and Mr. Omar, a former national-level shooter and gold medallist.
Ali balances academics, Hifz studies, and community service, including teaching children in slum areas and feeding people daily.
Asif Sohail, Ali's father and a renowned philanthropist, highlighted the need for better infrastructure and support for shooting sports in Telangana.
