Southern CMs Urged to Unite Against Proposed Delimitation Exercise

Southern CMs Urged to Unite Against Proposed Delimitation Exercise

Manickam Tagore is a Congress leader from Tamil Nadu.

He says southern states should work together against a planned change to electoral boundaries called delimitation.

He believes the change could reduce South India’s political influence.

His party also plans to protest during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Chennai.

Tagore supported maternity leave for families having a third child but said the government should think carefully about changing its family-planning policy.

He also called for better police training and reforms after custodial deaths.

He opposed the Mekedatu dam and asked Karnataka to release Cauvery water to protect crops.

He further sought punishment and more compensation after Tamil workers were fatally shot.

He also discussed milk prices and safety at reopened firecracker factories.
