Courier Company Ordered to Pay Rs 78,000 After US Parcel Vanished

A man in Telangana sent a large package to his sister in the United States.

The package had sarees, groceries and other items for her birthday and Christmas.

He paid Rs 18,000 to a courier company.

The company said it would deliver the package within a week, but his sister never received it.

The man contacted the company several times but did not get a satisfactory answer.

The company also did not explain what happened when the case reached the consumer commission.

The commission said this was poor service and that the company’s receipt did not properly describe the parcel.

It ordered the company to return the delivery fee and pay compensation and legal costs totaling Rs 78,000.
