Former Minister Jogi Ramesh Arrested in Spurious Liquor Case Amid Political Controversy
A politician named Jogi Ramesh, who used to be a minister, was arrested by the police.
The police say he was involved in making fake and bad liquor.
Another person, who is already in trouble for this fake liquor, told the police that Jogi Ramesh encouraged him and promised money.
Jogi Ramesh says he did nothing wrong and believes the police arrested him unfairly because of politics.
He plans to fight the arrest in court.
His friend was also taken by the police.
The leader of Jogi Ramesh's political party, YS Jagan, strongly criticized the arrest, saying the Chief Minister is trying to hide his own mistakes and is using the police to target opposition leaders.
YS Jagan believes the fake liquor was made by people connected to the Chief Minister's party and sold through their own shops.
Former minister Jogi Ramesh has been arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in a spurious liquor case.
The arrest is based on statements from the prime accused, Addhepalli Janardhan Rao, who alleged Ramesh's involvement and promises of financial support.
