PPA Chief Urges Caution on Polavaram Dam Works After Rain
Rain fell near the Polavaram dam project.
The project authority’s chief, Sanjeev Vohra, went to check the work.
He looked at areas where workers are filling gaps with rock, soil and sand.
He asked workers to press the materials down regularly with road rollers.
This helps keep the structure strong and stable.
Officials also told him how the project is progressing.
Vohra said the work should finish within the planned time, with support from the Centre.
A team of foreign experts is expected to visit soon.

He reviewed filling work at Gaps 1 and 2 and G-Hill, where gaps were being filled with rock, soil and sand.
Vohra directed officials to use road rollers regularly to compact the material and maintain the structure’s strength and stability.
At a meeting, water resources officials briefed him on progress; Vohra called for completion within the stipulated period and assured central support.
He said the central and state governments were keen on completion and asked officials to prepare for an upcoming visit by foreign experts.
