Calcutta High Court Seeks FIR Details Against Banerjee Aide

The Calcutta High Court is asking police how many criminal complaints have been filed against Sumit Roy.

Roy is an aide of Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee.

His lawyer says new complaints have been filed very often.

The lawyer also says Roy has cooperated with investigators and appeared eight times.

The cases involve alleged recruitment and land corruption.

Roy has received temporary protection from the Supreme Court in the land-related case.

The state says there are several allegations against him and has mentioned an alleged Rs 20 crore bank deposit.

The High Court will consider the matter again on September 10 after the Supreme Court’s proceedings.
