Minister Demands Jagan Answer Alleged Rs 3,200-Crore Liquor Kickbacks

Minister Demands Jagan Answer Alleged Rs 3,200-Crore Liquor Kickbacks

A minister in Andhra Pradesh accused the previous government of problems in its liquor policy.

He said about Rs 3,200 crore may have been collected as illegal payments.

He asked former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to answer these allegations.

The minister also questioned why liquor sales moved from digital payments toward more cash.

He raised concerns about new brands, ordering methods and transportation contracts.

He said the previous government had promised prohibition before the 2019 elections but later followed a different policy.

The current alliance government says it wants more transparency and better liquor quality.

It plans to use 13 tests and a mobile app to help detect adulteration.
