Congress Files Complaint Against BJP Leader Bandi Sanjay Over Derogatory Remarks
Political parties are competing in an election for the Jubilee Hills area.
One party, the Congress, complained to the election officials about a leader from another party, the BJP, named Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
They said he used bad words about their leader and asked people to vote based on their religion, which is against the election rules.
The Congress also said he told people it was okay to take money from other parties if they voted for the BJP, which is also against the rules.
The Congress wants the election officials to stop him from campaigning and to punish him.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on the other hand, accused the Congress of trying to please only Muslim voters and claimed that most Hindu voters support the BJP.
He also suggested that the election is really between the BJP and a version of Congress he called 'Indian Muslim Congress'.
Both sides are using strong words about each other's campaign tactics.
The Congress party (TPCC) has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) against BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
The complaint alleges that Bandi Sanjay Kumar made derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister and appealed to voters along religious lines during the Jubilee Hills byelection campaign.
TPCC claims these actions violate the Model Code of Conduct and the Representation of People Act-1951, specifically regarding religious appeals and bribery.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar had previously accused the ruling Congress of 'Muslim appeasement' and claimed majority Hindu support for the BJP.
TPCC is seeking action against Bandi Sanjay Kumar, including his removal from campaigning and his ministry, to prevent communal disturbance and ensure fair elections.
