UPI Makes Informal Workers Visible, But Not More Secure

UPI lets people send and receive money quickly using phones.

It has helped many small sellers avoid handling cash.

However, using digital payments does not automatically give workers pensions, secure jobs, or guaranteed earnings.

The author says workers need stronger protections and a way to negotiate collectively.

UPI can be useful, but it should not be treated as a replacement for labor rights.
