DRDO Tests Man-Portable Anti-Tank Missile
The DRDO, which is like India's science team for defence, tested a new missile called the MPATGM.
This missile is special because it can find and hit moving targets like tanks all by itself, even at night.
It uses really smart technology to do this, like special cameras and sensors.
The test was done in Maharashtra, and important people like the Defence Minister congratulated the team.
This missile is a big step for India to make its own strong defence systems.
DRDO successfully tested the indigenously developed Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) with top attack capability.
The test was conducted against a moving target at the KK Ranges in Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra, on January 11, 2026.
The MPATGM uses advanced technologies like an Imaging Infrared (IIR) homing seeker and a tandem warhead for high accuracy.
The missile can be launched from a tripod or a military vehicle-mounted launcher, making it versatile for different terrains.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO and its partners for the successful test, highlighting its importance for India's defence capabilities.
