Khammam District to Hand Over Sand Point Management to Women's Groups
In Khammam, the government is letting women's groups run the places where sand is sold.
The District Collector visited a sand selling place already run by a women's group.
They want to make sure everything is fair, so they'll use coupons for sand and no big machines.
They're also setting up a check-in spot.
The Collector will tell the government about it and see if other places can do the same.
Khammam District Collector announced Women’s Associations will manage sand points.
The decision was made after an inspection of a sand point managed by Sindhu Gram Samakhya.
Sand transportation will be based on coupons with no JCBs allowed.
A check post is planned at sand points within 10 days for women's presence.
The Collector will submit the details to the government for potential state-wide implementation.
