US Raid Kills Syrian Undercover Agent
A US raid in Syria was supposed to capture a bad guy from the Islamic State group.
But instead, they accidentally killed a man named Khaled al Masud.
He was actually working as a spy for the US and the Syrian government to gather information about the Islamic State.
The raid happened early in the morning in a town called Dumayar, near the capital city of Damascus.
Khaled's family thinks he was killed because of bad information from the Syrian Free Army, a group that works with the US.
Both the US and Syria haven't said much about what happened, which might mean they don't want this to cause problems between them.
The Syrian president has met with the US president a few times recently, even though he used to be wanted by the US for being linked to militant groups.
A US raid in Syria targeted an Islamic State member but killed Khaled al Masud, an undercover agent working for the US and Syrian interim government.
The raid took place on October 29 at 3 AM in Dumayar, east of Damascus, involving US forces and the Syrian Free Army.
Al Masud had been passing information about the Islamic State to the Syrian interim government for years.
His family believes he was targeted due to faulty intelligence from the Syrian Free Army.
Both the US and Syria have refrained from commenting on the incident, possibly to avoid straining their relationship.
