Female Elephant, Calf Die in Train Hit Near Kerala Border

An elephant mommy and her baby were walking near some railway tracks at night.

They wanted to cross the tracks to go back home to the forest.

But a train was coming, and it hit them.

The train pulled them along for a little way.

Sadly, both elephants died from the accident.

Forest workers who take care of wild animals learned about what happened.

They shared the news on Thursday.

The accident took place near the border between Kerala and Tamil Nadu in India.

This shows that railway tracks can be dangerous for wild animals.
