Karnataka Adds 450 Medical Seats, Introduces NRI Quota
Imagine Karnataka is a big school that trains doctors.
They just got permission to let in 450 more students to study medicine!
This is because a lot of people wanted more chances to become doctors.
Also, for the first time, the school is letting students from other countries (NRI) have a special chance to get in.
If they get in, they will pay a certain fee, and this will help the school get more money to pay for things.
This will help make the school less dependent on money from the government.
Karnataka has been granted 450 additional medical seats for the 2025-26 academic year.
The additional seats have been allotted equally among various medical colleges.
The state will introduce a 15% NRI quota in government medical colleges.
NRI students will have a fixed fee of Rs 25 lakh per seat.
