Delhi Lawyers Suspend Strike After Government Pauses Challan Amendments

Delhi Lawyers Suspend Strike After Government Pauses Challan Amendments

Delhi lawyers were unhappy with new rules about traffic tickets.

The rules would let government and department officials decide some disputed tickets.

They would also require people to pay half the ticket before going to court.

Lawyers said they were concerned about these changes.

They had planned to stop working and march to the Lieutenant Governor’s house.

A lawyers’ delegation met with Delhi’s chief minister and other ministers.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta agreed to pause the new rules for now.

Because of this pause, the lawyers suspended their planned strike and march.
