Assam Government Announces Reshuffle, New GMC Commissioner Appointed
The government of Assam has made some changes to who is in charge of different departments.
Dr. M.S. Lakshmi Priya, who used to work in the Health department, is now the head of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
The person who was in that job before, Shri Megha Nidhi Dahal, will now be in charge of helping businesses in Assam.
Other people in government also got new roles.
These changes were made to help improve how the government serves the public.
Dr. M.S. Lakshmi Priya appointed as the new Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
The appointment is part of an administrative reshuffle ordered by the Assam government.
Dr. Priya replaces Shri Megha Nidhi Dahal, who is now Managing Director of the Assam Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC).
Shri Rakesh Kumar relieved of additional charges as Chairman of APGCL and Secretary of Fishery Department.
Manvendra Pratap Singh appointed Secretary of the Fishery Department and Commissioner of Transport, Assam.
