Nine held, 18 kg ganja seized in two Tirupati operations

Police in a city called Tirupati caught people who were selling a plant drug called ganja.

Selling ganja is against the law in India, so the police took it away.

The police did two separate missions on the same day.

In the first mission, they caught five people and took 5 kilograms of ganja.

In the second mission, they caught four more people and took 13 kilograms of ganja.

All together, nine people were arrested and 18 kilograms of ganja was taken.

The police believe the main person brought the ganja from another town called Srikalahasti.

He then sold it in Tirupati and a nearby place called Renigunta.

The police chief said anyone who transports, sells or uses drugs will face strict action, and he asked people to report drug sellers to the police.
