Modi’s ‘Bharat’ Placard Draws Attention at BRICS Summit

BRICS leaders met in New Delhi for their 18th summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a country placard in front of him.

The placard said “Bharat” instead of “India.”

Both “India” and “Bharat” are used for the country.

This was described as the first time the placard used “Bharat” at the event.

The meeting took place at Bharat Mandapam.

Leaders discussed cooperation, development and wider world issues.

Many people noticed the sign because it showed how India presented its name internationally.
