Orange Line Metro Completion at Chingrighata: Construction to Speed Up
Imagine a new subway line is being built in Kolkata, called the Orange Line.
It will connect New Garia to the airport, making it easier to get around.
Right now, there's a big gap in the line at a place called Chingrighata.
To fix this, workers need to close this gap by building the railway over the road.
This will involve closing roads on some weekends so they can build.
Once finished, this will make the airport and the railway stations easier to reach and a convenient option for many people.
Construction on the Orange Line is progressing with the help of traffic blocks at various points.
The most critical gap is at Chingrighata, requiring weekend traffic blocks.
Similar blocks are needed in other areas like Chinar Park, Nabadiganta, and Nazrul Tirtha.
The state government has approved traffic blocks for construction.
Once the Orange Line is operational, it will connect the airport and key railway stations.
