Mercedes-Benz India Plans Quarterly Price Hikes in 2026
Mercedes-Benz India wants to increase the prices of its cars every three months in 2026.
This is because the Indian rupee has become weaker compared to the euro, which makes it more expensive for the company to sell its cars.
The company has already said that prices will go up by 2% from January 2026.
The exchange rate was Rs 89 for 1 euro about 18 months ago, but now it is Rs 104-105 for 1 euro.
This is a big change of more than 15-18%.
The company thinks that if they increase prices a little bit each quarter, it won't affect how many cars people want to buy.
Mercedes-Benz India plans to increase prices every quarter in 2026 to counter rupee depreciation.
The company has already announced a 2% price hike starting January 1, 2026.
The euro-rupee exchange rate has risen from Rs 89 to Rs 104-105 in 18 months, a depreciation of over 15-18%.
Subsequent price hikes in 2026 are expected to be around 2% each quarter to absorb the depreciation impact.
The company aims to spread out the price hikes to avoid affecting demand.
