Maharashtra Speaker Criticizes AIMIM Over 'Green' Remarks
Maharashtra's Assembly Speaker, Rahul Narwekar, scolded the AIMIM party for saying they would 'paint Mumbra green.'
He said they should focus on helping the country instead of talking about colors.
The AIMIM leaders said 'green' was just their party's color, but others thought it was a divisive statement.
This happened after AIMIM did well in local elections in Thane.
Narwekar wants politicians to work on making the country better, not just talk about symbols.
Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narwekar criticized AIMIM for their 'We will paint Mumbra green' statement.
Narwekar questioned AIMIM's contributions to nation-building and patriotism.
AIMIM leaders Sahar Sheikh and Waris Pathan made the controversial remarks after the party's electoral gains in Mumbra-Thane.
The AIMIM claimed 'green' refers to their party flag, but opponents saw it as a communal statement.
Narwekar's remarks reflect a broader political tension over identity and communal rhetoric in Maharashtra.
