IYC Launches Legal Helpline for Protest-Related Threats
The Indian Youth Congress, a group that supports young people in politics, started a phone line that students can call if they feel threatened or harassed because of protests.
The line is part of a campaign called "Chhatron Ki Goonj".
Students can report online abuse, intimidation, or even threats at home.
The group will look at each complaint and give legal help if needed.
The president, Uday Bhanu Chib, said the group will stand with students if the government does not protect their right to speak out.
IYC launched a nationwide legal helpline (9811867474) for students and youths facing threats and harassment linked to recent protests.
The helpline, part of the "Chhatron Ki Goonj" campaign, will receive complaints of online abuse, intimidation, and home harassment.
IYC cited earlier complaints after the July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar and mentioned cases of Ritika Singh and influencer Shraddha Singh.
Every complaint will be reviewed, and legal assistance and organisational support will be provided where needed.
IYC president Uday Bhanu Chib said the organization will stand with students if authorities fail to protect their constitutional rights.
