CS Directs Plan to Expand Sugarcane Cultivation
The Chief Secretary of Hyderabad has asked officials to make a plan to grow more sugarcane.
Currently, only seven out of twelve sugar factories are working, and they need more sugarcane to run at full capacity.
Farmers want more help and money from the government to grow sugarcane, as it uses less water than other crops and can also be used to make ethanol and power.
The government is looking at what other states are doing to support sugarcane farming.
