Telangana HC Summons IAS Officers for Contempt
A 74-year-old woman named Bommena Ramavva had her land taken by the government in 2010 for a project.
She was supposed to get money for her land, but she never did.
The court told the government to give her the money, but two important government officers did not follow the court's orders.
The court is very upset and has asked these officers to come and explain why they did not do what the court said.
The officers said they were moved to new jobs, but the court said that is not a good excuse.
The court wants the officers to give the woman her money within eight weeks.
Telangana High Court summoned two IAS officers for not following court orders regarding land acquisition compensation.
The case involves a 74-year-old woman whose 0.14 acres of land was acquired in 2010 for the Mid Manair reservoir project.
The officers, Navin Mittal and Sandeep Kumar Jha, were directed to appear on March 24 to explain their non-compliance.
The court rejected the officers' defense of being transferred to other posts, stating that administrative responsibility cannot be evaded through transfers.
The court set an eight-week deadline for the officers to pass a general award and disburse the compensation to the petitioner.
