Indian Railway Passenger Traffic Surges in FY25
Imagine trains like buses carrying lots of people!
After a break because of something like a big pause, more people are using them again.
In the last year, about 6 out of every 100 more people rode the trains, with some tickets being special and some not.
The trains made more money too, especially from newer, fancy trains.
Even though lots of people are riding the trains, it is still not as many as before the pause.
The trains are hoping to make even more money with special long distance trains!
Passenger traffic on Indian Railways increased by 6% in FY25.
Total passenger count crossed 7 billion in FY25.
Passenger volume is still below pre-Covid levels.
Revenue has increased since FY20, with a rise in chair car services.
