Pilgrimages Suspended Due to Rain Forecast
The Amarnath, Vaishno Devi, and Shiv Khori pilgrimages in India have been temporarily stopped starting from July 19, 2026.
This is because the weather experts have predicted lots of rain, which could cause landslides and floods.
The government wants to keep the people who go on these trips safe.
More than 3.76 lakh people have already been on the Amarnath Yatra this year.
The trips will start again only when the weather is safe.
People are asked to wait for official news before going to the starting points of the trips.
Amarnath, Vaishno Devi, and Shiv Khori pilgrimages suspended from July 19, 2026, due to adverse weather forecast.
Suspension affects Pahalgam, Baltal, Nunwan/Chandanwari (Amarnath); Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas (Vaishno Devi); Shiv Khori (Reasi district) routes.
IMD predicts moderate to widespread rainfall, potential landslides, and flash floods from July 19 to 23, 2026.
Over 3.76 lakh pilgrims have already participated in the Amarnath Yatra this year.
Pilgrimages will resume only after a comprehensive safety assessment.
