Nidhi Agarwal Takes On Telugu Cinema’s Female-Film Challenge
Nidhi Agarwal is going to act as the main character in a new Telugu movie.
The movie will be a thriller based on mythology.
Srinivas Gopisetty will direct it, and Varah Films will produce it.
The producer hopes this role will help Nidhi become better known for serious acting.
He says many recent movies led by female actors did not do well in theaters.
He believes audiences often support male stars more strongly than female stars.
However, some actresses, including Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Anushka Shetty, have succeeded in women-led films.
He hopes Nidhi and other actresses can help change this pattern.
Nidhi Agarwal will headline a mythology-based thriller directed by Srinivas Gopisetty.
Varah Films will produce the project, with Lagadapati Sridhar expressing hope for its success.
Sridhar cited several recent female-led Telugu films that failed to make a major box-office impact.
He said Telugu theatrical audiences still more readily support male stars in leading roles.
Sridhar also pointed to successes such as Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Maa Inti Bangaram and expressed optimism about changing audience attitudes.

Changing Possibilities
The article points to Anushka Shetty, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and the success of Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram as evidence that women-led films can succeed.
Career strategy for actresses
Market Caution
Sridhar advises young actresses to consider star-studded films rather than solo-hero projects if they want longer careers in Tollywood.
Changing Possibilities
The upcoming Nidhi Agarwal project, along with other female-led films, represents an effort to give actresses performance-oriented and author-backed roles.
Audience expectations
