LSR Students Demand Safer Roads After Rape Near Campus
Students at Lady Shri Ram College said some areas around their campus do not feel safe.
They mentioned dark roads, too few police vans and a Pink Booth that does not work.
They were especially worried after a 17-year-old was allegedly gangraped in a nearby park.
A police encounter also happened near the college’s back gate.
Students said they were not told about the encounter quickly enough.
They want better communication from the college and police.
They also want more guards, safer footpaths and regular patrols near places such as Kailash Colony.
The college said it is improving security and asking police for more patrols.
Students at Lady Shri Ram College raised concerns about missing PCR vans, a non-functional Pink Booth and dark roads.
The concerns followed the alleged gangrape of a 17-year-old in a nearby DDA park and a police encounter near the college.
