An ambulance was called for a pregnant woman named Shivani in a village in Madhya Pradesh.

The ambulance could not reach her home because its wheels became stuck in mud.

Villagers carried her about two kilometres on a bullock cart.

They then used a two-wheeler to take her to a health centre.

Shivani gave birth to a baby girl who had already died before delivery.

Doctors said the baby likely died two or three days earlier, before this journey.

Villagers said the bad road caused problems and have requested a proper road.

Health officials said Shivani had not told health workers that the baby had stopped moving and that a road proposal was already being considered.
