Jannik Sinner: From Ski Slopes to Tennis Stardom
Jannik Sinner, now a top tennis player, grew up in a town in the Italian Alps where skiing was very popular.
He was a good skier, even winning a race!
But when he was 7, he started playing tennis too.
By the time he was 13, he decided to focus on tennis instead of skiing.
He realized that in tennis, you can make mistakes and still win, while in skiing, one mistake can cost you the race.
He credits his parents, who worked at a ski lodge, for his strong work ethic, and often visits his hometown to see his family and friends.
Jannik Sinner grew up in Sesto, a town in northern Italy near the Austrian border.
