Chandigarh Startup Policy Delays Incentives Despite Growth
The Chandigarh Startup Policy 2025 was announced in April 2025 to help startups in the city.
However, more than seven months later, the government has not given any money to startups yet.
They are still working on the rules and the website for applications.
Even though there are now 633 startups in Chandigarh, which is a big increase from before, the government is taking time to make sure everything is fair and proper.
Some startups have gotten help from national programs, but the local policy's benefits are still not available.
The government wants to support many startups, especially those led by women and young people, but they need to finish setting up the system first.
Chandigarh Startup Policy 2025 notified on April 29, 2025, but no financial incentives disbursed yet.
Implementation guidelines, committee structures, and online application system still under finalization.
Number of recognized startups in Chandigarh has grown to 633, creating 6,260 jobs.
Women's participation in startups has increased, with 297 startups having at least one woman director or partner.
Key incentives include idea-stage grants, patent reimbursements, certification support, and subsidized office rent.
